From the soil of dark harsh noises and distortion organically emerge rhythmic pulsations and complex hypnotic sound structures, travelling between fragility, dark ambience and unleashed acoustic aggression. Wound deliberately retains a high dynamic range in volume and intensity from the original recordings, reflecting the different stages, sudden rises and falls of emotional tempestuousness.

The original first four tracks of Project:IL were produced completely without sequencers. The foundation are small amounts of looped sounds, played at different speeds, carved, pushed and shaped with parametric EQs, distorted by overdriving the mixing device through a delay/reverb chain. All parameters are being played and arranged manually in real-time, pouring a whole universe of exploding pain and sadness into half an hour of recording time.

The other two tracks "Media Materia" and "Kopfnacht" (Head Night) have been added to the original release at a later date. and originate from some time before and after Projekt:IL. While "Media Materia" is based on Wound's fascination for radio transmissions and noises, as well as the continuity of presence that we allow modern media to surround our senses with, "Kopfnacht" is another emotional reflection of the self. This time, the subject is a day of complete inner emptyness.

The most intensive moments in life are those that seem to suck the light out of every cell of the body. But lacking this experience, not finding the brevity and openness to face them, keeps the real beauty and delicacy of life behind a veil of bluntness and empty laughter. Our true self is scar tissue. The perception of the void is the passepartout for all there is to come.
